Homeless Outreach/Downtown OKC

Every Tuesday night, while most people in the city are either relaxing at home, watching the news, or having dinner at a nice restaurant, volunteers from Crossroads Church are working at ground zero in Downtown OKC. There are over 1,000 homeless people on any given night on the streets of Downtown OKC. Many struggle with mental or emotional problems that keep them bound and unable to make it off the streets. Most go hungry several days a week without someone even acknowledging their existence. Most struggle to remain connected to the world around them.

Currently, the Crossroads Church outreach team is one of the main, consistent weekly outreach ministries to these people. Our team helps to reconnect them to the reality that there is another way. The outreach volunteers take food and water to these people every week. This population is all but forgotten by the rest of the city. The outreach volunteers reach out, find needs that can be filled, and welcome these people to our weekly church services. Currently, an average of 90 people are fed and ministered to each week through this program. We are seeing lives changed through salvations, prayer, and meeting real needs.

WHERE WE MEET

The outreach team meets at the Crossroads Church Chapel at 5:30pm. We load the vans with the food and water and leave for Downtown OKC by 6 pm. The team returns to the Church by 7:30pm.
