Homeless Outreach/Downtown OKCEvery Tuesday night, while most people in the city are either relaxing at home, watching the news, or having dinner at a nice restaurant, volunteers from Crossroads Church are working at ground zero in Downtown OKC. There are over 1,000 homeless people on any given night on the streets of Downtown OKC. Many struggle with mental or emotional problems that keep them bound and unable to make it off the streets. Most go hungry several days a week without someone even acknowledging their existence. Most struggle to remain connected to the world around them. WHERE WE MEETThe outreach team meets at the Crossroads Church Chapel at 5:30pm. We load the vans with the food and water and leave for Downtown OKC by 6 pm. The team returns to the Church by 7:30pm. |
